Do You Make A Camping Checklist?
Do you make a camping checklist before you start packing for your trip? Have you ever found yourself out there ready to settle into your camping spot only to have it dawn on you that you have forgotten something, if not many things you need? Maybe you left behind the essential tools to prepare meals or even something to keep you warm at night like a sleeping bag? What can you possibly do about if your camping destination is quite a ways from your home? Do you just find a way to get by without it or do you just head to the nearest store to buy what you left behind? If any of these scenarios have happened to you, you are simply leaving out one vital step to preparing for a camping trip. You are not making a camping checklist.
Those who are experienced will consistently check and recheck their list in the days leading up to the actual camping trip. Those who do make a camping checklist know it is important to truly be prepared and it can ruin the entire time if you leave behind essentials. You may even be putting yourself in physical danger if you leave certain pieces of equipment behind. If you leave behind an adequate supply of water or navigation equipment like maps or compasses, you could find yourself in real danger.
These may sound like extreme cases of forgetfulness, but it goes to show you have to be prepared days ahead of time. If you do have a camping checklist for your outdoor adventure, you will find the process of loading up and heading out also goes much smoother.
If camping is something you are new to, you may not know exactly what all you should consider putting on your list. You can get help putting a proper list together. You can easily find prepared lists that will give you an overview of all you need to have to go camping. If you are going to include a little time doing some hiking while you are out camping, you will need added supplies aside from normal camping gear. Are you going to incorporate some time for rafting in this trip? You will have to make sure your list also reflects that too.
If you are going camping with a large group of friends, you are probably going somewhere where you can have your car right there too. This can be one thing that makes your camping trip a little bit easier because you can have a lot of equipment with you and you will have easy access to it. Your space may be limited though if you are going to carry everything to the camping spot. You will have to carry less with you and have to have a way to get it all there too. Having a list that reflects exactly the kind of camping you are doing is important.
Regardless of whether you plan to hike all day or go on a simple little overnight camping trip, the better organized and prepared you are the more fun you will have. Take the necessary time to have a camping checklist for your outdoor adventure so you can thoroughly enjoy each moment of it and have everything you really need.
